The screw on the handle allows you to adjust the length of the needle, allowing you to vary the loops. Different needles are suitable for different yarn thicknesses: the 2 mm needle for lace weight yarn (maximum 1.5 mm thick), the 3 mm needle for fingering and sport weight yarns, the 4 mm needle for DK weight yarn, and the 5 mm needle for worsted or bulky weight yarns in your punch project.
